Interview with Lakisha Johnson
Who is Lakisha, the author?
Lakisha the author is just this regular girl from Memphis, TN who has been given a gift of writing. I don't limit myself to a specific genre to write because if I have an idea and it flows, it works. I am who you see. If you don't know me, get to know me. Don't take the word of someone else, their opinion of me may be based on their feelings. Get to know Lakisha the author and Lakisha the person, you'll find they are one in the same.
You have a new book out, tell us about it.
My new book, Ms. Nice Nasty, is actually about one of the characters from my previous series, A Secret Worth Keeping. It's about Camille or Cam and it takes you deeper into her personal and career life and how they both become intertwined when her sexual desires begin to cause hell in her home and then when someone from her past come back to haunt her present. Cam has never been shy about her love for sex but when it begins to affect her life, personally and career wise; she has to decide what's more important.
How has the success of A Secret Worth Keeping series affected your career?
It has affected it in a positive way. Becoming a published author has being mind blowing and eye opening. It has taken me places I've never been, I've met people I would have never met and I've done things that I would have never done such as book club meetings and book signings. The success of A Secret Worth Keeping has been major and I could not have done it without the people who support me.
What's next for you?
I keep writing! I'm working on part 2 of Ms. Nice Nasty as well as a special project with my sister and who knows what's next. All I know is I will keep writing. My plan is to revamp my devotional books and possibly write another devotional in the near future. Who knows... There's no limit!
If you could offer any advice to aspiring authors, what would it be?
To never allow the ink to run dry in your pen! Many times we give up when the book sales are down, when we get a bad review, when we don't get published or simply when things don't go the way we think they should but never give up! Being an author isn't easy whether it's self published or published or whether it's with a big publishing company or a small one... It's hard work and no one will work harder for you than you! Don't ever give up on your dreams, no matter what they are!

I am one whom God chooses to bless everyday he allows my eyes to open. I am a college graduate with 2 Associate Degrees in Information Technology. I am not perfect but I am a work in progress, so pray for me. I won't claim to be a bible scholar but I have been given a gift of writing, so writing I shall do!
